Dr. James L. Profit, Jr. Psy.D., LAADC, CAODC-A, M-RAS, MCAADC, CART

Dr. James L. Profit, Jr. attended Little Rock Hall High school and graduated in 1978; shortly after in September 1979 he joined the United States Navy. While in the US Navy he continued his education. Dr. Profit was ecclesiastically ordained in 1997 by the country’s oldest Pentecostal organization (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World) as an ordained Dr. in 1998. After twenty years of arduous military service Dr. Profit was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in September 1999.

Additionally Dr. Profit received a bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from Grace and Truth Apostolic University and received his master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Crenshaw Christian University June 2012; both local educational forums in the county of San Diego, a doctorate from United Graduate Colleges and Seminary, in Christian Psychotherapy in May 2014.

Dr. Profit received an Honorary doctorate from New Gate College in Addiction Counseling in January 2016; he is a Licensed Clinical Chaplin, Licensed Advance Addiction Drug Counselor, California Association of DUI Treatment Program, Masters level Registered Addiction Specialist, Masters Level Christian Alcohol & Addiction Counselor, Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, Lead counselor for Scripps McDonald Center for 17 1/2 years during the Scripps McDonald center tenure, a brief stint as a counselor IV for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Intensive Outpatient Program (Del Mar), Administrator for California Consortium Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) educating and responsible for interning counselors to become active working addiction counselors. Dr. Profit is an active board member of Association of Christian Drug and Alcohol Institute, owner of Living Epistles Services LLC and Program Director and co-owner of the Bridges of San Diego, Inc. intensive outpatient programs. Lastly, Dr. Profit is current attending Rhombus University to obtain a master level degree in mental health.
